A row of fish laid out on a dark wooden board notched at both ends, and above them a blue-rimmed plate with three fish resting on it, their heads reaching past its edge. The silver bodies catch the light and return it green, pink and yellow, and only the eyes stay black and fixed.
Ruqia Khalfan painted it in oil on canvas in 2025, at 90 × 60 cm, building the scene on a single contrast: dull dark wood carrying bodies that shine.
The original is available to acquire — a single, unrepeated copy.
