On a path lined with rose bushes, an Omani woman walks carrying her harvest, as though leading a procession that needs no music; colour is its rhythm, the roses are its guests, and the village is its witness.
Daoud Al Shibli turns this everyday scene into a celebration of the land, its people and Omani memory. The woman moves towards the viewer while her features fall away, so that she stands for every woman who carried the yield of her land and kept its traditions.
